This does come at a cost to its damage output, which tends to be quite low. Shadowcast, similar to Flamecharm, applies a black flame effect on hit that can be stacked. Many Shadowcast talents are centered on ether drain and AoE. The playstyle of this attunement revolves around stealing your opponent's ability to use mantras in order to switch up, and instead allow you to apply the pressure, evident in its moves that allow you to attack while it is still coming out. It allows the user to also have a lot of switch up potential.
Arguably the best attunement to use heavy with, most likely only rivalled by Galebreathe, this is a very powerful attunement especially after it's buffs. This attunement could fit almost any playstyle, as it's main focus is constantly applying pressure to the opponent. However, Shadowcast works best with plenty of time to work with, able to fight at top-shape for long periods of time. Its delayed action attacks, and reliance on ramping up pressure over time makes Shadowcasters vulnerable to bursting and prediction. An adept opponent will typically try to end a Shadowcast fight aggressively while countering any stray attacks with high precision.
